Casual & Fashionable New York City Hall Elopement on their 10th anniversary

        Tessa & Suraj's

Tessa & Suraj's day was full of intention...

I'm not usually one for putting a big emphasis on details, but these two put everything together with such deliberate curation and taste, while also being so casual, down to earth and beautifully present the day of, that I can say that I am in love with every detail they chose and the effort they put into every decision; in Tessa's own words....

"our cake, rings, dinner restaurant, outfits, etc, all originate from different countries. Cake is Japanese, rings are from a Brooklyn-based designer but with a Sri Lankan sapphire, dinner is by Mexican chef, Suraj's suit is from Italy, my dress is from France but by a British designer."

Tessa and Suraj live in lower Manhattan with their two cats, Kobe and Lebron, who they are quite obsessed with. They enjoy eating great food, traveling, listening to music, looking at (and sometimes buying) clothes and shoes, and going to the NYC ballet. Their day was intimate, relaxed and just them and their closest family.

        What Tessa loves about Suraj....
his wit, humor, self-assurance, conviction and big dreams

        What Suraj loves about Tessa....
her selflessness, intelligence, and her desire to do what is right

What they love about New York...
the energy, hustle, authenticity and diversity of the city and felt that a City Hall wedding would perfectly embody that

((I should also probably mention that they basically gave me free rein to go with my intuition, and were very clear that they are not fans of any type of traditional wedding photography. And people, let me tell you, if you want memorable, unique photographs of your wedding day...show up and be present, go with the flow and not a shot list and trust your photographer. It will pay off. Promise.))
